The Awards and Grants Committee is pleased to announce the 2026 kickoff of the SUTA Awards and Grants Program, a biennial initiative established in 2010 to honor outstanding individuals in our community.
The recent situation in Iran has been a source of deep concern for everyone on the Committee. Although this call was drafted over three weeks ago, we—like many Iranians across the globe—felt such anxiety that we delayed sending it in the hope that circumstances would improve. While we recognize that the situation remains very uncertain, and while we deeply commiserate with those who have lost loved ones, suffered injuries, or are enduring communication blackouts, we have decided to proceed now. We believe that maintaining the continuity of our programs is the best way we can do our part to support our fellow Sharif affiliates and students during these difficult times.
There are four Awards categories and one Student Grant:
Dr. Mojtahedi’s Innovation Award,
Dr. Amin’s Lifetime Achievement Award,
Maryam’s Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award,
Dr. Hojabri’s Distinguished Service Award, and
Student Grants (in memory of the Victims of Flight PS752)
The awards presentation ceremony, which is a biennial program, will be held for the ninth time in conjunction with the 2026 SUTA Reunion.

Thank you,
